City of Douglas News

The City of Douglas is seeking citizens who are willing to offer their time to serve on volunteer boards.  The Historic Preservation Commission has two (2) vacancies.  Volunteer must live in city and have demonstrated special interest, experience, or education in History, architecture or preservation of historic resources.  The Douglas Coffee County Planning Commission has one (1) vacancy.  The applicant must have lived in the city for at least six (6) months.  The Downtown Development Authority has three (3) vacancies.  Requirements are applicant must be a taxpayer residing in the City of Douglas; owners or operators of business located within the DDA boundary and who shall be taxpayers residing in the Coffee County; or persons having a combination of the qualifications specified in 1 and 2 above.

Applications for these volunteer positions may be picked up at City Hall and should be returned by noon on Dec. 11th.  For a full listing of requirements to serve on these boards or to complete an application, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 912-389-3405.
