  1. Virtual Public Hearing - Discuss the Proposed Comprehensive Airspace Initiative

    October 29, 2020, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

    The City of Douglas needs public support to oppose the proposed plan to expand the operational airspace area for Moody Air Force Base because it will significantly impact regional airports and economic development in Douglas and surrounding counties. At this virtual public hearing, there will be an opportunity for the public to comment on the environmental analysis and anticipated impacts identified in the Draft EIS. A hard copy of the DRAFT EIS (Economic Impact Statement) can be found at the Douglas County Library or the project Website at www.moodyafbairspaceeis.com. Comments should be submitted on the DRAFT through November 24, 2020, and can be submitted via email to: 23wg.pa@us.af.mil or by mail to: AFCEC/CZN, Attn: Moody AFB Comprehensive Airspace Initiative, 2261 Hughes Avenue, Suite 155, JBSA Lackland, TX 78236-9853.

  2. City of Douglas Police Department Police Academy Course

    October 29, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Douglas Police Department

    The Douglas Police Department will be conducting a Citizens' Police Academy course beginning Thursday, October 29, 6:00pm, at the Douglas Police Department. The course lasts approximately eight (8) weeks and a light meal and refreshments will be provided. Participants do not have to be a resident of of Douglas to attend the course. It is open to all citizens over 18 years of age. Class maximum will be 20 participants. Registration deadline is October 27, 2020. Registration forms are located at the Douglas Police Department.
