On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, the City of Douglas was presented with two checks from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. A Community Development Block Grant program check in the amount of $459,895.00 was presented for water and sewer improvements along West Phillips Street, West Cherry Street, and Magnolia Street. The proposed improvements consist of installation of 445 feet of water pipe, one fire hydrant, approximately 4,500 feet of sewer main improvements and the installation of four man holes. Another CDBG grant check in the amount of $528,484.00 was presented for the improvements for the Elixir expansion and development of Roland Sahm Way Road.
